Times photographer Dave Heaton visited Scarborough Hall, as the youths call the coffee house, for the above pictures. Bob Bender, youth director at the church, said there are three programs a night. The first part of the program is 35 minutes of entertainment featuring bands from around the city, she said. This is followed by 20 minutes of preaching. The preaching is called "testimony time" and is conducted by youths who tell "what being a Christian means to me" Bender heads up the program. The coffee house is opened Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m."

Photograph used for a story in the Daily Oklahoman newspaper. Caption: "For the fifth year folks at Wetumka this weekend celebrated their "Sucker Day," an event sort of forced upon them in the beginning by an almost legendary charater called F. Bam Morrison, who took merchants for $200 worth of advertising for a non existent circus with inmaginary elephants. The only disappointment this time was that the gentle grafter did not show up to be the honor guest. By publication be was offered legal immunity, a new suit of clothes and a $100 bill to show. But like his animals, clowns and performers, F. Bam didn't materialize. Last itme Wetumka folk heard of him was a year ago when Morrison called Argie Taylor, president of the Sucker club and contractor for several tons of elephant hay, asking Taylor to wire him $25. Seems F. Bam was in the pokey at Warrensburg, MO., at the time, where he had talked the sheriff out of a $100 loan to pay a $50 circus flimflam restitution, but wanted dough from Taylor to travel to a job he said he had with a carnival. Bu if F. Bam didn't show up this weekend there …

Mill, 1600 S May. When the electric arc furnace was tapped shortly after 3 p.m., the mill officialy began the first phase of its shakedown run. The rolling mill section of the plant is still to be completed but actual production of steel will continue at an accelerated pace to stockpile ingots, W. H. Hoster, corporation president said. The mill, using Oklahoma scrap, is described by Hoster as the "smallest integrated steel mill in the world." When in complete operation the mill will employ about 100 men, producing high grade steel at the rate of 24 tons every 10 hours. Most of the output is expected to go to Oklahoma manufacturers working on defense contracts."

It was a wish repeated by an army of contruction workers who are building Oklahoma City's biggest storage lake in the face of an ironic obstacile - the very water with which they hope to fill it up. Guy H. James, who hold the largest single contract on the multi-million dollar project, gazed wishfully across the scooped-out reservior site and declared "the water down there gets neck deep to a tall giraffe when it rains." And it has rained enough to touch at least three rampaging floods at the base of the dam site......Despite the setbacks, scores of workers and tons of equipment hanve made a mighty "dent" in the job . The dent, 30 feet deep in places, should begin filling up with the first 125,000 acre feet of water by the end of the year, according to Morission B. Cunningham, city water superintendent...Here, an intake tower is partially complete and a cement conduit eight feet high and eight feet wide has been built underground to …
