The drums were loaded with motor oil and related fuels manufactured by the firm. They exploded in the fiery blaze. In background is shown, dimly, a tank car loaded with oil that , despite being enveloped in flames, did not exploded. Plans for reconstruction of the Cato Oil and Grease Co., 1808 NE 9, "must necessarily await a study of the damage we suffered. But, said Dean A. McGee, president of Kerr-McGee Oil Industries, Inc., "there is no reason to consider moving the plant, or doing anything else just now but rebuild. Claude Huffman is president of Cato, but all of the stock of the company is owned by Kerr-McGee. The $1.5 million estimate of the value of the property was made by Kerr-McGee claims agent Ray McNary. Normally, between 100 and 125 persons are employed at the plant. McGee did not have the exact figure early Tuesday, after the spectacular 4-alarn fire during the night......McGee said that until debris is cleared away, it will be impossible to estimate …
