Thurman Isaac Jefferson, 21, of 501 E Harmon, Midwest City, hit a bridge with his car Saturday in the 4800 block E Reno, flipped over into a creek and walked away with minor injuries. Trooper Garland Richey declared it was a "miracle" he was not killed. Then he gave Jefferson a ticket for reckless driving. Richey said Jefferson was going east and started to pass another car. He ran off the road and the left front of his car hit the banister of a bridge of a small creek. Jefferson's car turned end over end and rolled over on its top, It dropped 12 feet into a dry part of the creek bed. "If it hadn't rolled as it turned over end over end, it would have crushed him when it came down, Richey said."

Photograph used for a story in the Oklahoma City Times newspaper. Caption: "Army helicopter square dancers do-si-do, sashay and right-and-left grand. "Swing your partner, pass her on the head. If she don't like biscuits, feed her cornbread." They bill it as "just an old-fashioned square dance." But it's a bit different from what Oklahomans have seen. They do it with helicopters...The four H-19 helicopters are decked out in colorful square-dance costumes-two of them corn-cob pipes as "Hank" and "Henry" and two others as "Hattie" and "Harriet."...On equal billing with the square dancers is Bozo, the helicopter clown - piloted by W-O Eldred Bourne of Jackson, Miss...The yo-yo trick will be performed for the first time before the public at the airshow......A mock battle also will be staged, with 90 heli-troopers being flown in by giant Vertol helicopter to seize Will Rogers field in a 20-minute battle-with all the fireworks...The Oklahomans in the group are W-O Alva Anderson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arch Anderson of Pyror, and W-O Bert E. Ratliff, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Ratliff sr., of Ada."
