Rhoads, 57, was critically hurt when his car plunged into the Great Shiloh Baptist church here Monday after going out of control in a freak accident. Carl A. Rhoads, 57-year-old Oklahoma City grocer, was in a critical condition in St. Anthony hospital Monday after a freak accident in which his automobile crashed into a church at NE 10 and Lindsay. Rhoads, who lives at 425 SW 50, and operates a grocery store at 2407 S Central, suffered a fractured skull and internal injuries. a passenger in his automobile, Jack Daniel Webb Jr., 36 of 113 NE 5, suffered head injuries. A large section of skin was cut from his forehead above his left eye. Police Accident Investigators Bill Lewellen and C.L. Posey said the Rhoads car went out of control after it was side-swiped by a vehicle driven by Mrs. Carlean R. Sharp, 51 of 3038 NE 19, in the 1000 block on N Lindsay. The Rhoads car plunged through a section of the Great Shiloh Baptist church at 636 NE 10, the officers said. Mrs. Sharp …
