Carswell references the request made by Suddath in his letter of July 29 and advises regarding a letter written by Subject 95040 OP. He advises Suddath that the Subject is ready to go to Henrietta of his own accord to expedite the clearing of the matter. Carswell expresses his appreciation for Suddath for his willingness in a matter so vital to this man and advises that if he finds himself in error he will work just as eagerly to see Subject held for action.

A form letter addressed to Buddies--TO ALL LEGIONNAIRES, DEPARTMENT OF TEXAS, from Sam D. Forman, Jr., Department Commander, The American Legion, Department of Texas, Houston, Texas, dated August 3, 1944. Forman reminds the Legionnaires of the housing conditions and that things are abnormal in Fort Worth, the same as in any other city in the Nation due to the war effort, and to make all reservations with Mr. Herbert Joseph, Chairman of the Housing Committee.

A letter written to Mr. Carswell from Ethel and Glyn Quade, Sagerton, Texas, dated August 3, 1970. Quade expresses their disappointment that they missed Carswell when he drove out there. She expresses their appreciation for the azaleas and Ideals books, asks after Mrs. Carswell and invites him to drive out on Friday for an evening meal noting that Lyndell will be home that evening.
