In the annals of American western history, few people have left behind such lasting and far-reaching fame as Billy the Kid. Others believe that the legend began with his unforgettable jailbreak in Lincoln, New Mexico, several months prior on April 28, 1881. Others still insist his legend began with the publication in 1926 of Walter Noble Burns’s book, The Saga of Billy the Kid. James B. Mills has left no stone unturned in his twenty-year quest to tell the complete story of Billy the Kid. He explores the Kid’s disputable origins, his family’s migration from New York into the Southwest, and how he became an orphan, as well as his involvement in the Lincoln County War, his outlaw exploits, and his dealings with Governor Lew Wallace. Mills illuminates the Kid’s relationships with his enemies, lovers, and numerous friends to contextualize the man’s character beyond his death and legacy. Article argues that traditional acidic oxygen evolution reaction (OER) electrocatalysts are more prone to be oxidized and corroded as results of unstable carrier structures and variable electronic states of active species, so a high-performing biochar aerogel (BA) based electrocatalyst was realistically designed and synthetized via joint utilization of the terrestrial lignin and seaweed polysaccharide as carbon sources. This work puts forward a novel and effective strategy towards the enhancement of the acidic OER process by rational regulations of the BA and the coupling effect in micro-interface.

They will conduct focus groups and pilot a method on one aspect of their collections. For this panel discussion, self-selected members of an advisory board for this project will discuss their individual motivations for and concerns about the project. Data management plan for the grant, "Connecting Galaxies and Supermassive Black Holes: Meso-scale Simulations of Multiphase Accretion Flows." It proposes to study how gas flows onto the supermassive black holes in massive galaxies and galaxy clusters. They will perform numerical simulations with a nested zoom-in technique, focusing on the mesoscale accretion flows from the Bondi radius to hundreds of Schwarzschild radii. They will predict the mass flux of different phases, as well as their angular momentum and magnetic flux.

Article reports a new strategy for efficient extraction of uranium from seawater via converging the cooperative functions of adsorption–photocatalysis into the nanospace of covalent organic frameworks (COFs). This study establishes multicomponent COFs as promising candidates for efficient uranium extraction from seawater.
