Some Preliminary Investigations in the Use of a Supersonic Mercury Vapor Jet for Providing an Energetic Neutral Beam
Report discussing experiments conducted under the Livermore "Waldo" project to determine "(1) surface densities attainable in a supersonic mercury vapor jet stream, (2) the approximate efficiency of a mercury jet for neutralizing a proton beam, and (3) the mercury partial pressure contribution in the bore due to side streaming from the mercury jet."

Tests on a High Current R.F. Joint in Vacuum
An R.F. joint tester was designed to determine the relative heating and tendency toward arching at high RF current density (100 amps/linear inch) of a 12 inch diameter circular copper butt joint in vacuum with several types of inserts and at various amounts of axial loading, ranging from a very small contact pressure to one of 1400 pounds per linear inch of joint.

The Chelate Process: [Part] 5. Investigation in Horizontal Extractors
The recovery of plutonium has been demonstrated in a laboratory countercurrent horizontal extractor using the TTA process. Using three extractive stages and two washing stages in each step, a recovery of 91 percent has been obtained in the chelation step and a recovery of 99.9+ percent in the de-chelation step. With five extractive stages, recoveries of 94-98 percent have been found for the chelation step.
