This recording is a part of the radio series “Toscanini: The Man Behind the Legend,” which was a tribute to conductor Arturo Toscanini. The broadcasts consist of music performed by the NBC Orchestra as well as interviews with composers, conductors, orchestra members, and other people associated with Toscanini. This segment includes performances of Kabalevsky's Overture to Colas Breugnon and Respighi's Pines of Rome.

This is a traditional story about a king who teaches his sons that unity is strength. He explains that one person by himself, just like one stick, can be broken easily, but many people together, like many sticks, cannot be so easily broken. Aurangzeb (born 1985) told the story while Gohar Rehman, born 1981, listened.

Recording of a personal narrative of Sartaj Bibi (23-year old housewife). In this narrative, Sartaj Bibi gives an account of her routine work schedule on a typical day as a housewife.

Recording of a conversation between Aurangzeb (a 34-year old male teacher) and Gohar-Ur Rehman (a 38 year old male shop owner) in which Aurangzeb talks to Gohar about their memories in high school. Aurangzeb recalls a student who once brought apricot fruits to the class and threw them on the floor. When the teacher entered the class, he slipped on one of the apricots and consequently punished the student. The speakers also recall several other stories/events in this session.

Recording of a conversation about some childhood activities in Danna. The speakers recount their memories about playing, going to school, and other activities. Muhammad Rafiq is a male teacher who is 29 years old at the time of recording. Abdul Haq is a male factory worker who is 28 years old at the time of recording.

Recording of a story about a king and his seven daughters. The king once gives out gifts to each of his daughters according to their choices. One of the daughters asks for a locket, but shortly after receiving her gift, she loses it in the river. A jackal tricks her and eventually she is rescued by her brother. The story is narrated by Sosan Jan, a 54-year old housewife from Danna.

Recording of a traditional narrative where a cunning wife puts her husband to test by pretending to be ill all the time. The husband uses all possible means to cure her but to no avail. He then asks his wife to suggest what else he could do to cure her. She asks him to disgrace his mother. He disgraces her mother instead. His wife is shocked to see this. However, he responds to her saying that he did what she had asked him to do in order to cure her illness. The narrator Abdul Qayum (a 60-year old male factory worker) is narrating the story to two young speakers of Mankiyali (Abdul Haq and Aurangzeb).

This song is about the composer's (Wijinthui) life, his love for his village, and his love life.

This is an agricultural folk song sung at the end of the day’s farm work calling co-farm workers to return home. The singer of the song is from Maguilong village.
