Caption: "Oklahoma cowgirls won three championships at the Milk and Ice Fund bebefit All-Girl rodeo which closed a four-performance stand Wednesday afternoon before almost 3,500 fans at the Fairgrounds. Oklahoma winners on t5he average for all go-rounds were Patty Hughes in Henretta in the calf roping. 15-year-old Peggy Gather of Lindsay in the cloverleaf barrel racing and Anne Slocum of Oklahoma City in the cutting horse contest. Competing with the nation's top cowgirls. Oklahomans showed well in all events during a show which got the worst of it from start to finish from the weatherman. Only other Oklahoman to finish up in the averages was clown Dixie Roger of Woodward, who wound up fourth in the ribbon roping. A closing feature of the show, run offf over an extremely wet and muddy arena after heavy rainfall Wednesday morning, was the comeback of Rae Beach od Monterey Park, Calif. the California cowgirl placed second Wednesday after riding two horses Tuesday night and one Saturday night for the championship.
