Postcard image of the Pennsylvania National Guard making camp, with the caption: 'National Guard arriving at the Mexican Border'. Several uniformed guardsmen are fixing a supply wagon; other guardsmen are distributing supplies; and one man near the center is holding a pot. The background - tents are visible on both sides of the image; railroad box cars are visible in the distant background; and an unidentified motorcycle is visible on the left side of the image. Correspondence on the back is post-marked July 31, 1916 (El Paso, Texas) addressed to: Miss Elvira Weakland, 1928 + 13 Ave., Altoona, PA. The message reads: 'This is Sunday it is starting to rain I have not recd a letter from you for a long time over eight days Pat'

Postcard from Fred to his sister Mrs. Gus Jentsch. The correspondence is written in German. On the front is a photograph of a brick building on a corner of a street. The building is two floors and houses the Little Red Onion Cafe and the Sanitex Clothes Shop. The clothes shop has a few stairs leading up to its door. Part of the shops can be seen through the front windows. The sidewalk in front of the stores is lined with trees.

Postcard to Mrs. F. Adler. The front of the postcard features a photograph of a man-made dam on a small lake, taken from down-stream. Trees surround the lake and dam on all sides, and there are large, rectangular stones piled up on the right side. A man in a light shirt and dark pants walks along the edge of the dam (where the water pours over the edge), going left.

Postcard of the Anson Mills Building. The Anson Mills Building is a historic building located at 303 North Oregon Street in El Paso, Texas. The building stands on the original site of the 1832 Ponce de León ranch. Anson Mills hired Henry C. Trost of the Trost and Trost architectural firm to design and construct the building. At the time, Henry C. Trost was the area's foremost pioneer in the use of reinforced concrete in building design. Built in 1910-1911, the building was only the second concrete-frame skyscraper in the United States, and one of the largest all-concrete buildings. At 145 feet (44 m), the 12-story Mills Building was the tallest building in El Paso when it was completed. The architectural firm of Trost and Trost moved its offices to the building upon completion, where they remained until 1920. The Mills family sold the building in 1965. The building stands on a corner site opposite San Jacinto Plaza, with a gracefully curved street façade that wraps around the south and east sides. Like many of Trost's designs, the Anson Mills Building's overall form and strong verticality, as well as details of the ornamentation and cornice, are reminiscent of the Chicago …

Handwritten on the back of the postcard, "7-29-14 Thanks for very pretty card. Come again with more like it. Sincerely Francy D. Driehs Beaumont Box # 74 Texas." The card is addressed to Harry Kerkow 404 E. Alleghany St. Austin Minn.

Postcard of Beaumont Fire Department's Central Fire Station at Mulberry and Walnut streets with horse drawn fire engines, carriages, and fire fighters. On the left side of the building is a sign for "Entrance, City Hall" and two children sitting near the entrance. At that time the fire department shared the building with city hall. On the right side of the building, on the second story, appear to be legs dangling out of the window. Other buildings can be seen in the background. Printed at the top of the postcard is "Central Fire Station, Beaumont, Texas." Printed on the back of the postcard is the following information regarding the postcard's creation: "Published by S.H. Kress & Co. Made in U.S.A." and "A-466." Handwritten on the back of the postcard, "Beaumont Texas July 26, 14 Mrs. M.E. This is a document from the Charles B. Moore Collection. It is a postcard which details to Linnet Moore White that Mr. and Mrs. Fred Humes have had a baby boy on July 10 in Charleston. The card is sent to Linnet by Mrs, Chesebro.

Postcard from W. B. Johnston to George Pendexter mentioning a recent fire that took place by a drug store and restaurant; Johnston says this took place "across the street from the Parker fire" that he had sent a card of in the past. The photograph shows the ruins of a building in Bellevue, Michigan after having been destroyed by a fire in December 1911; the only thing left is a pile of rubble and dirt.

Postcard with five images of fire chiefs in automobiles on its front. The center image is labeled with "chief", and the surrounding images are labeled with "asst. chief." On the back of the postcard, the sender has left a handwritten message that says, "I will start with our chiefs, a very nice view card, then will go on to all of our new style Fire Department. I have ordered a lot, but they have not arrived yet. Be here in a few days. We have not any big where they could get the pictures of the departments [...]"

On the back of the postcard, the sender has left a handwritten message that says, "If you write again soon, address to chillmark, M.V., Mass - and here for a short stay. Would you care for a view from the [...] fire dept. Though, mostly sea views."

Postcard from W. B. Johnston to George Pendexter telling him of a recent fire they had "the 11th and one Sunday morning at 3 a.m." The photograph shows a devastated building with a caption that reads: "Great Fendrich Fire Ruins Main St. Looking West from 2nd St. Evansville, Indiana." The building in the center is almost completely destroyed while the one to its left has most of its walls still standing though its roof is gone.
