A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from C. A. Long, Pastor, St. Paul Methodist Church, Abilene, Texas, dated June 20, 1941. Long acknowledges an expense account for Carswell that must have been increasing and requests a statement of the balance due to him.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from Jeff Davis, Executive Secretary, United Texas Drys, dated June 3, 1942. Davis confirms that Bishop Boaz will be with Brother Douglas Carver on June 14, glad Carswell is "getting" a group to go to Austin and enthusiatically advises, in a postscript, that Marion County voted dry on Saturday giving them 129 totally dry counties to date. The reverse side includes a handwritten note, "Cash 28.00" and dated June 7, 1942.

Rhoads advises Carswell that there is no special course on the effects of the use of alcohol and tobacco but that it is taught in Physical Education and Physiology.

McKenzie advises of a delay of their meeting until July 18 due to the McLennan County election on July 15. A letter addressed to the President of the United States, The White House, Washington, D. C., from T. N. Carswell, dated June 10, 1946. Carswell advises the President that on June 5 Dr. L. D. Newton, President of the Southern Baptist Convention, and others urged upon the President the advisability of the withdrawal of the United States representation from the Vatican. Carswell confirms that he is in full accord with that request.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from A. S. E. Carr, Secretary to Senator Tom Connally, dated June 21, 1946. Carr acknowledges the receipt of the letter from Carswell after Senator Connally had left to attend the Council of Foreign Ministers with Secretary of State Byrnes. Carr advises Carswell that the President extended an interview to Dr. L. D. Newton and other members of the Southern Baptist Convention and advised them that the appointment of Mr. Myron Taylor is a temporary one, his services only needed until the peace treaty is signed with Italy.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell ("Tommy"), Abilene, Texas, from J. D. Sandefer, Jr. ("Jake"), Breckenridge, Texas dated June 1, 1943. Sandefer expresses his appreciation for the letter from Carswell knowing that some of his efforts as Chairman of the Board have been appreciated. He advises of his recent effort to obtain an armed services setup on the campus, the resignation of Dr. White as president of HSU and touches on a past discussion regarding allowing the Executive Committee to frame the policies stating, again, that his chairmanship was not perfect but that he did his best. Sandefer advises that Carswell was asked after by everyone at the Easter Service and offers his sympathy regarding Truett's death [E. Truett Compere].

Meeting minutes from the June 18, 1945 meeting of the Executive Committee of the Greater Hardin-Simmons University Committee, including a list of the names of men present; Dr. Richardson reported on a change made in the contract with the firm of Pierce, Hedrick, and Sherwood; funding details for the Greater Hardin-Simmons campaign were decided upon.
