Hampton, 20-year-old Oklahoma City construction company employe, suffered serious injuries Monday, when his car overturned after colliding with another vehicle at NW 8 and Shartel. Hampton, a native of Coalgate, was rushed to mercy hospital, for treatment and massive scalp lacerations and a possible skull fracture. Doctors at the hospital said his condition was not determined at the time. The young construction company employe, en route to work at the Miller Floor Co., 5009 NW 10, was pinned in the wreckage of his 1951 sedan. The car spun clockwise, flipped through the air and overturned on its top, accident investigator G. F. Gothard reported. A fire department crew was called to the scene of the accident, after Hampton's gas tank began leaking, and started flooding N Shartel at the height of the early-morning traffic period.
