Professor Crate discusses the results of various fossil and artifact finding expeditions around the Hill Country of Texas, specifically the numerous burned rock mounds found in the Kerry County area. In this interview, Mrs. Crate relates how her great-grandparents came with Joshua Brown (Texas pioneer) to the first shingle camp established on the banks of the Guadalupe, in what later became Kerrville. Mrs. Crate briefly details her early life in Bandera, Texas, as well as Kerrville. She also recounts her memories of the flood of 1932.
