Oral History Interview with Melba Lee Williams Crate, June 9, 1998

Interview with Melba Lee Williams, a former professor and descendant of some of the first settlers in Kerr County, from Kerrville, Texas. In this interview, Mrs. Crate relates how her great-grandparents came with Joshua Brown (Texas pioneer) to the first shingle camp established on the banks of the Guadalupe, in what later became Kerrville. Mrs. Crate briefly details her early life in Bandera, Texas, as well as Kerrville. She also recounts her memories of the flood of 1932.
