He is holding a folded paper in his right hand and is looking over at the woman who is sitting to the right of him. This woman has short, curly hair and is wearing a dark floral print dress with sheer sleeves. She is sitting at a sewing machine that is on a small table that has been pulled to the center of the room and she is starting to sew a dark piece of fabric. The room they are in has two windows with the blinds closed and the walls are covered in a wallpaper that depicts a forest scene. The left window has a window air conditioning unit in it and there is a picture in a frame sitting on top of it. There is a sofa that has an open envelope on one of the cushions and a lamp on the right side of the image and a desk on the right side of the image.
