[Fire on the South Side of the Square]

At 3:45 a.m., Wednesday, May 10, 1972, a fire broke out at the Three Sisters Restaurant on the South side of the Square. The fire worsened and a total of 41 firemen were called in to help. This is the view of the backside of the buildings along Walnut Street. The restaurant was destroyed and one of the walls collapsed into Ever's Hardware on the east side. It also spread into Bomar's Men's Clothing on the west side. All three businesses were destroyed.
