[75th Anniversary Commemorative Quilt]

Color photograph of a quilt commemorating the 75th anniversary of Cleveland, Texas's incorporation as an independent municipality. The quilt's surface has been stitched with hand prints, each representing one of 53 individuals that were citizens of Cleveland in 1935. Photograph of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra at Akard Mall. According to the information hand-written on the back, the show was part of a "Sidewalk Symphony" concert series in May, 1978. The concert series was sponsored by the City Arts Program division of the Dallas Park and Recreation Department and the Dallas Park Board. There were four free noontime concerts in May that attracted 2,500 to 3,000 people downtown.

[Carpe Cubana's Flooded Show Camp]

Photograph of Carpe Cubana's circus camp in La Feria, Texas. The camp had been flooded, and members of the circus stand together in knee-high water. Some members of the circus carry household goods such as pots, bags of food, and fold-up chairs. Several men sit in the water, and one man even balances a teacup on his head. Plain tents are visible behind the circus members. A hand-written inscription written in white reads "CUBAN SHOW CAMP," and "LA FERIA TEX. 5/29/29." A man sitting in the water has been identified as Gabriel Nava.
