In the memorandum, standard packages of the hotels services are described for anyone who is interested in staying with the Sheraton that evening, and to make reservations in advanced. In regards to the Latino Art and Culture exhibition being held at the Smithsonian Institution and how most of the teachers in the NTIEVA program are teaching at schools with a large percentage of Latino students. The teachers are having a problem finding quality materials associated with Latino artists and McCarter is interested in having the institute devote a portion of their time to the Latino Art and having Wyrick come to the Texas institute to introduce new instruction packages.

In regards to a letter that Bill McCarter and Jack Davis wrote to Russ Chapman, Principal of Lakewood Elementary School, to congratulate Chapman on being selected by the Getty Institute to attend a National Administrators Focus Group Conference. Reynolds informs Ruff that Chapman will give presentations on two different days about the importance of arts in education, June 8th and June 14th.

Reynolds writes the institute has been showing Biggers' "Hampton video" to their teachers and including his work from the Dallas Museum of Art into their study print collection. Reynolds writes that Jack Davis, Bill McCarter and herself have worked with Ollie Theisen to present a teacher workshop in conjunction with Bigger's exhibit in Mount Pleasant and she is working with others to produce an education video for the students and are requesting Biggers permission to use some of his images in the video. Enclosed in the letter to Biggers, Reynolds has included some material that provides more information about their project and the Institute.

Mentioning a meeting, that Nasher chaired on, which energized the entire faculty and how disappointed McCarter is, because of scheduling conflicts, that Nasher will be unable to participate in the leadership retreat scheduled for June 1. McCarter also mentions literature that he forwarded to Nasher and hopes the he understands the enthusiasm for the concepts behind the NTIEVA's projects. McCarter then mentions that Dallas I.S.D. was unable to continue as a consortium district because of finalized details, yet McCarter hopes to reactivate Dallas after meeting with Howard Dunn and conversing with Janice Wiggins. McCarter hopes to meet up with Dunn to discuss finer details in an upcoming meeting.

The North Texas Institute for Educators on the Visual Arts supports and endorses the proposal, giving thoughtful consideration for its funding. Reynolds explains in the letter that NTIEVA is a program devoted to research and development of discipline-based art education (DBAE), and that Fort Worth ISD and Burton Hill has been a model for the development of the strategies implemented from the program. NTIEVA will continue to support the educational initiative taking place at Burton Hill.
