Herbert acknowledges the receipt of the letter from Carswell, advises of enclosed copies of letters addressed to Captain George L. McCargo and Captain Hazen P. Slagel and requests that Carswell notify Captain Jessie Warren and Captain Roscoe Blankenship in order to request the completion of their paperwork by the 27th. He describes the inspection of the paper work as quite a job and discusses his travel plans expressing his appreciation for accomodations having been arranged for both Mr. Winters and himself.

Knickerbocker confirms a preferred inspection date due to both the First Sergeant and Company clerk of the company are to be inducted into the regular army early in June.

Morris acknowledges having received a copy of the letter written by Herbert to Major T. N. Carswell and having carefully noted its contents. He provides to Herbert his business location and telephone number.

Carswell advises Knickerbocker of his being assigned the tentative inspector for the units composing the 34th Battalion, Texas Defense Guard, and requests Knickerbocker write with the time and arrangements for the inspection.

Allcorn replies to a letter from Carswell and affirms his support of Carswell's candidacy for District Commander noting that he is not able to promise Carswell the Comanche vote discussing, at length, past and future politics of the Legion.
