Kennedy confirms that the forms and reports necessary for the sponsorship of Carswell's agency by Pioneer Air Lines have been completed.

Jenkens expresses his appreciation to Haynie for forwarding this matter to him noting they will be able to find out whether or not Mr. Diffenbaugh has anything. Typewritten at the bottom of the page is correspondence from Holman Jenkens, Dallas, Texas to Mr. Carswell--Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas. Jenkens expresses his appreciation to Carswell for having this matter referred to him.

A form letter addressed to "Fellow Texan," from Wm. A. Blakley, Dallas, Texas, dated May 14, 1958. Blakley acknowledges that he is not an experienced politician and having been appointed to the Senate on January 15, 1957 by Governor Shivers but that he feels the need to serve to preserve our system of government which is based on the separation of powers and the sovereignty of the States. He advises of the devotion that is required from all who believe in contitutional government and requests suggestions regarding his candidacy for the United States Senate.

A letter written to Senator William A. Blakley, Dallas, Texas, from T. N. Carswell, dated May 23, 1958. Carswell replies to Blakley's letter of May 14 with suggestions regarding his campaign strategy. "In my analysis of your candidacy you are not running for an office, you are challenging the people of Texas to a rededication and adherance to that principle of government that has contributed most to our greatness."

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from Lynn W. Landrum, The Dallas Morning News, dated May 15, 1941. Landrum expresses his appreciation for the "kindly" note from Carswell.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from Jeff Davis, Executive Secretary, United Texas Drys, dated May 29, 1942. Davis advises Carswell that they are making a move on June 8 to get war time prohibition on the July Primary ballot and warns to keep mum until it is presented to the Democratic Committee. The reverse side includes a list of names handwritten by Carswell: Col. Finch, Maj. Bolling, W. Skinner.

A letter written to T. N. Carswell from Jeff Davis, Executive Secretary, United Texas Drys, dated May 28, 1942. Davis confirms that he is sending a Scrap Book and sermon to the twelve pastors who were on the list he received from Carswell and will be bringing Bishop Boaz on the 14th.

Letter written to Rev. W. C. Ashford, Pastor, South Side Baptist Church, Abilene, Texas from Jeff Davis dated May 28, 1942. Temperance Field Day June 14th. Davis advises Ashford of an enclosed copy of Dr. Well's sermon and of the campaign to urge National Congress to pass Senate Bill 860. There is a handwritten note by Carswell written at the top of the page confirming that this is a copy of a letter which is to be sent to "all of the pastors".

A letter written to Reverend Jeff Davis, Dallas, Texas, from T. N. Carswell, dated May 25, 1942. Carswell confirms that Davis should be at the Abilene Field Day on June 14. He lists the names of pastors and their congregations that have signed up and suggests that Davis send to them copies of the Crusader with a preparatory message. Denominations represented include Baptist, First Christian, Methodist, and Presbyterian.

A letter written to Dr. Frank L. Turner, President, McMurry College, Abilene, Texas, from T. N. Carswell, Chairman 24th Senatorial District Drys. Letter reused with address revision to Dr. Humphrey Lee, President, SMU, Dallas, Texas, dated May 29, 1942. Carswell advises of a letter that was sent on March 4 and that a reply would be genuinely appreciated stressing that the Drys are anxious to know what Christian schools and colleges are doing about the use of beverage alcohol.

Davis reports that Bill 373 is in danger of being "scuttled" by the House due to amendments attached to the bill when passed by the Senate. He expresses the importance to have citizens wire their Representative "and urge him to pass the bill in the House".
