The board of education announced its plan to close the school Friday at a Jefferson P-TA meeting. Dr. Fred W. Hosler, superintendent, said the school was not necessary and uneconomic. The protest meeting will be at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the school. (T-4-8-54: Here's a chance for the former student who always wasnted to run his own school. Up for sale is Jefferson school, 23 at Classen, with 22,000 square feet of floor space. It can accomodate more than 400 students. last classes were closed at Jefferson in 1950 when the board of education ruled it "unnecssary and uneconomical." The building now houses administrative offices."
