Mr. Swayze discusses his service in the Air Force and Mrs. Swayze discusses her teaching career.

Interview with Elaine Carol Haufler Scogin, the descendant of German immigrants, from Kerrville, Texas. Mrs. Scogin talks about her family's German heritage, her husband's service in World War II, local places and people, and her work as a secretary / bookkeeper / office manager for well known Kerrville businesses. The interview transcript includes pictures of Mrs. Scogin and her family, on pages 39-43.

Interview with Vern "Bucky" Blodgett, an armed forces veteran and Veteran's Administration worker from Kerrville, Texas. Mr. Blodgett describes moving to and growing up in Kerrville, and his work with the VA Hospital there (first as a clerk, and finally, as acting associate director). Besides serving in the service for four years, he also worked in several VA facilities around the country before making his way back to Kerrville. His memories of the town include details of the flood of 1932, his role in founding the Buck 'N' Bull Club (a rifle club) in 1946, and a few stories concerning the religious community. A historical profile of the Kerrville VA Hospital is included at the end of interview transcript.

Interview with Frances Hubble Kaiser, a former Kerr County sheriff and justice of the peace from Kerrville, Texas. Mrs. Kaiser discusses about how she was elected as sheriff, including her views on law enforcement and justice. She also describes some of the honors she received over the years, including being chosen for the "Women in Power" program in 1999. The interview transcript includes photos of Mrs. Kaiser and her family, on pages 20-21
