Caption: "The Parade ground was empty under the cloudy, but sometimes sunny sky, as the military band broke into the "Cassion Song" made famous by the artillery and later stolen as the whole army's own. Smatterings of applause came from guests on the reviewing stand, but the man in front of that stand was thinking of his own "dusty trail" that the music tells of. It was a "dusty trail" that began in 1904 in East Hampton, N. Y., and moved in 1922 to West Point. It officially ends Tuesday at Fort Sill......All the pomp and ceremony that Fort Sill could muster was put on parade for the man who had command of both the U. S. Army Artillery and Missile School and U. S. Army Artillery and Missile Center since April, 1961......Gen. Hugh P. Harris, commanding general of the continental Army Command, presented a Distinguished Service Medal to griffing for "eminently meritorious service." Lt. Gen. Carl H. Jark, 4th U. S.
