Area art awakening becomes elementary

Educators say the art and humanities exposure will enrich the academic experience and help students become more articulate. Elementary schools across the metroplex have been selected to share in a five-year, $15 million grant for intensive art programs. As part of the grant the metroplex schools will be teamed with an art professor from the North Texas Institute for Educators on the Visual Arts at the University of North Texas.
