Included with this item is the envelope in which the letter was mailed. The envelope, postmarked March 13 from Gallatin, Tennessee, is addressed to Mrs. Mary A. Moore in Mckinney, Collin County, Texas.

Letter from N. H. McGee to Birdie McGee and Mary Moore in which he says that they have had a blizzard. He also gives updates on the health and activities of family members. He gives an account of the growth of two children, Lillian and Henry. He reports that Mariah Rucker had died. He writes about financial matters, collecting fines, and investigating thefts. He says he works as a game warden. He says that there are many empty houses in Gallatin Tennessee for rent or sale.

Letter from Will McGee to Charles, Mary and Linnet Moore in which he discusses ordering two buggy catalogs, freight charges, and the cost of new buggies. He also provides descriptions of some of the buggies. He said that he is part of the team that will build the Union School House. He gives the details of the bid process. Will says that the construction is only possible due to the because Mr. Love took insurance out on all the school buildings in the district. Each building was covered up to $350.00. He also writes about the birthday party for grandma and Birdie and the adventure he had returning items that were used at the party.

Letter to Linnet White from Birdie McKinley. She writes of news involving friends and family, including the death of Mrs. Wallace, illnesses that have been going around, family visiting, and a new car that was purchased by a cousin.

He wants to send Birdie to visit them since they aren't coming to Tennessee. He says that a lot has happened recently, the National Bank got robbed. He hopes they like Fort Worth. He talks about the baby Mary Louise. He bought something by the head rather than by the pound, and hopes to make some money off of it. He asks about Ruth and Frank asks about her too. He took pictures of Lillian and he will send some pictures and one of the cabin they were going to stay in. Birdie hopes they are settled into their new house in Fort Worth. She says they are all doing well. She talks about her baby and how Frank adores her. She also mentions the bank being robbed. If the fire hadn't been put out they would not have known the bank was robbed. She says she is slower at sewing, but the children do take up a lot of her time. This is a letter from the Charles B. Moore Collection. It is written by Moore to Patty Brown. In the letter, Charles discusses the Annie Laura story and gives Brown a brief, yet detailed family history. Highlighting major life events, he notes how he was born in Gallatin, moved to Texas, and moved away from Texas during the war. He also details his work with mills,how he changed career paths, and when he was married. This letter is dated March 1891.

It is postmarked Shelbyville, Tennessee, March 11th, and the date Mar. 9, 1862 is written in blue ink. According to the note written in the bottom left corner, the letter was received on March 25, 1862. There are some numbers written in pencil on the back.
