Davis asks if Carswell will attend the State Brotherhood Convention and requests that Carswell delegate two or three of his men to represent him if he cannot be there. He advises that he will be staying at the San Jacinto Hotel in Houston or to write him at the office.

Davis acknowledges his receipt of the letter of February 28 from Carswell and replies regarding the cancellation of medical licenses of doctors who are specializing in liquor prescriptions stating that he doubts it can be done under the present law. He confides regarding the liquor committee and the potential support of a bill, the appointment of a committee to work with the legal staff of the Texas Liquor Control Board and his belief of the chance for constructive legislation.

A letter written to Dr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from Jeff Davis, Executive Secretary, United Texas Drys, dated March 27, 1941. Davis reports that House Bill 373 has passed the House, and that it will come up for public hearing before the Senate Criminal Jurisprudence Committee where the State Medical Association plans to oppose the bill.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from J. A. Schneck, General Delivery, T. J. Tidwell Shows, Brownwood, Texas/Mineral Wells, Texas, dated March 8, 1941. Schneck confirms the plans for a show the week of March 17th, under the auspices of the Post. The reverse sides includes handwritten notes: "First be true to thineself, Thou canst then be false to any man" - "Aint no such thing as a back slide".

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Commander, American Legion Parramore Post No. 57, Abilene, Texas, from Sam Russell, 17th Dist. Texas, House of Representatives, Washington, D. C., dated March 25, 1941. Russell acknowledges his receipt of the letter with the check from Carswell to cover the cost of the manuals. Russell confirms that he has secured the fifty volumes of the Infantry Drill Regulations FM - 22 - 5 and is mailing them to Carswell., He advises of the enclosed bills as requested by Carswell. Typewritten on U.S. House letterhead bearing U S Eagle watermark.

Carswell advises Guidera of the plans regarding Abilene observing its first "Army Day" citing Camp Barkeley is located in Abilene and General Key as having authorized his command to participate assuring it would add interest if Gudera could send a unit or two to participate.

Styron acknowledges his receipt of and accepts Carswell's invitation for the 45th Division to participate in the Army Day Program.
