Austin, in which Morris informs Austin that he intends to settle in the Austin colony on land that Mr. Edwards is willing to sell to him. Morris also states that if the sea bluff property was been forfeited by the original grantee, he would prefer to purchase those lands over the land offered for sale by Mr. Edwards.

Austin, in which Carithers informs Austin that his absence was caused by prolonged suffering of a stomach disorder, and that he recovered enough to make the move to the Texas. Carithers also informs Austin that his son-in-law will traveling ahead in hopes of establishing a factory there, and requests that Austin provide information and assistance.

Copy of transcript for a letter from D. W. Smith to Stephen F. Austin, in which Smith informs Austin that a former colleague of his, whom he dispatched to Saltillo in order to sell several hundred pounds of calico, has decided to keep the money instead of returning the proceeds to Matamoras. Smith appeals to Austin for assistance in notifying the local authorities in the area and having him arrested if he is identified. Smith includes a description of the fugitive.
