The upper left quarter of both veiws show the section hardest hit by the wind. Above: the area is dotted with new houses, and business buildings in the foreground are of the latest design and construction. In the picture at the right, taken early on the morning of April 10, 1947, the destruction is clearly shown. Nearly 100 blocks were swept by the storm. May avenue will cross over the urban bypass at regular level, with the bypass roadway depressed to form an underpass.
