A $214,000 goal for construction of the facilities is being sought in the current YWCA expansion fund campaign for $971,000. Eastside already had raised over $50,000. To be constructed at N Eastern and 16, the building will house a gymnasium, swimming pool, dressing rooms, conference rooms, social hall with a stage, lobby, canteen and fully-equipped kitchen. the Stiles Street Branch building at 300 N Stiles is a former hospital and is in poor condition. Funds raised in the month-long YWCA campaign also will be used to remodel the downtown YWCA building and construct facilities for the Ione Branch."
