Energy and particle flow in low temperature plasmas
Increased interest in the development of high density plasma sources for ultra large scale integrated circuit manufacturing with varying geometry and power coupling strategies require the development of 2D models for accurate plasma reactor studies. An objective of their research was to develop a computationally efficient numerical code that would be useful as a design tool for inductively coupled plasma reactors. To achieve that goal the authors created a 2D fluid model (INDUCT2D) of an argon discharge. As uniformity is a primary issue in wafer manufacturing they have used INDUCT2D to investigate the effect of pressure and reactor geometry on the spatial uniformity of the etching ion flux. They have found that the optimum pressure for maximum uniformity depends upon the spatial profile of the inductive heating, and decreases with the reactor aspect ratio.

Quality Assurance Plan for Heat Source/Radioisotope Thermoelectric Generator Programs
The purpose of this document is to serve as the Quality Assurance Plan for Heat Source/Radioisotope Thermoelectric Generator (HS/RTG) programs performed at EG&G Mound Applied Technologies. As such, it identifies and describes the systems and activities in place to support the requirements contained in DOE Order 5700.6C as reflected in MD-10334, Mound Quality Policy and Responsibilities and the DOE/RPSD supplement, OSA/PQAR-1, Programmatic Quality Assurance Requirements for Space and Terrestrial Nuclear Power Systems. Unique program requirements, including additions, modifications, and exceptions to these quality requirements, are contained in the appendices of this plan. Additional appendices will be added as new programs and activities are added to Mound's HS/RTG mission assignment.

Preliminary fire hazards analysis for W-211, Initial Tank Retrieval Systems
A fire hazards analysis (FHA) was performed for Project W-211, Initial Tank Retrieval System (ITRS), at the Department of Energy (DOE) Hanford site. The objectives of this FHA was to determine (1) the fire hazards that expose the Initial Tank Retrieval System or are inherent in the process, (2) the adequacy of the fire-safety features planned, and (3) the degree of compliance of the project with specific fire safety provisions in DOE orders and related engineering codes and standards. The scope included the construction, the process hazards, building fire protection, and site wide fire protection. The results are presented in terms of the fire hazards present, the potential extent of fire damage, and the impact on employees and public safety. This study evaluated the ITRS with respect to its use at Tank 241-SY-101 only.

Configuration management compliance matrix for K Basins
This compliance matrix identifies the criteria of the configuration management program at K Basins and identifies the current methods, i.e., systems, processes, procedures, and programs, that implement the configuration management criteria. The matrix identifies the current K Basins implementing methods established through an initial assessment. This initial assessment of the implementation is reflected in the compliance matrix and forms the basis for subsequent detailed evaluations to ensure that the identified implementation methods adequately support the configuration management program. Specific objectives of this matrix include: Identifying functional elements (criteria) of configuration management and K Basins implementation of these criteria; Assessing the conformance of the implementation and providing resolution for discrepancies; Recommending corrective actions or improvements for discrepant conditions; Providing a tracking database to status the discrepancy resolutions; and Identifying estimated schedules and resources for implementing discrepancy resolutions.
