Byrnes, Supervising State Parole Officer), Sacramento 14, California, dated February 20, 1951. Finsley refers to an enclosed certificate sent for Subject A-9808-A advising of a balance of $2000 to be kept in trust.

An Inter-Departmental Communication Memo from the California State Prison at Folsom, Represa, California (Robert A. Heinze, Warden) by W. J. Ryan, Associate Warden, to Fred Finsley, Chief State Parole Officer, Sacramento, California dated February 26, 1951 (copy to T. N. Carswell). Ryan advises Finsley of a letter written by Subject 9803-A and approved by T. N. Carswell in which Subject requests the return of his U. S. Postal Notes. Ryan advises of the transfer of the notes to the Bureau of Paroles, therefore, he refers the letter to Finsley's office for attention and disposition.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Chairman, Taylor County Parole Board, from John Ben Shepperd, Secretary of State, Austin, Texas (by Pauline Kirk), dated February 27, 1951. Kirk advises Carswell of the enclosed correspondence and a $500 Postal Savings Certificate received from the California Authorities issued in favor of Subject A-9808-A. She expresses her appreciation to Carswell for his assistance and advises him that nothing was said by California regarding the tools belonging to subject. Typewritten on State of Texas Department of State letterhead bearing HAMMERMILL BOND watermark.

A letter written to a parolee in Abilene, Texas from Adult Authority, Sacramento 14, California (by E. A. Burkhart, Executive Secretary), dated February 19, 1954. Burkhart requests a response from Subject A-9803 on whether he intends to proceed or postpone the processing of the clemency application.

From Abstract: "This report is one of a sequence of quarterly reports, each designed to up-date its predecessor beginning with HASL-42, "Environmental Contamination from Weapon Tests." Herein are reported data which have accrued since HASL-51. In particular, the levels of strontium 90 in fallout, milk, tap water, vegetation, and foods are given, based on data available from November 1, 1958 to January 30, 1959."
