He notes that the fire chief, van Toor, is sick but that Pendexter should hear from him shortly. The photograph on the reverse side of the card shows the crew of the "#32 Hose Wagon" in St. Louis, Missouri. There are six firemen in the photograph, all are standing or sitting on the wagon; the wagon itself is equipped with a large water cannon mounted towards the front.
