From abstract: The uranium deposits of the Mayoworth area, Johnson County. Wyo., are in oolitic limestone at the base of the Sundance formation of Late Jurassic age. The uranium mineral has been identified as metatyuyamunite, a hydrous calcium uranium vanadate, that coats joints and fractures and replaces calcite in both the cement and the oolites. The known deposits of the area are of sub-ore grade, have a high lime content, and are not of economic importance at this time.

Abstract: A part of the Green River Basin airborne reconnaissance project, re: memo to Phillip L. Merritt, March 12, 1954, Proposed Airborne Reconnaissance Project, Green River Basin, Wyoming, was completed during the months from July though October 1954. No uranium mineralization of commercial value was found.

From introduction: This report concerns the investigation of uranium deposits in the Gas Hills area in July 1954.

From abstract: Uranium deposits and radioactivity anomalies have been found in the eastern half of the area underlain by the Browns Park formation in northwestern Colorado, south-central Wyoming, and northeastern Utah. The deposits are in eolian, lacustrine, and fluvial sandstones, tuffaceous sandstones, and limestones all of which were deposited on two converging pediments during Miocene time. At least one eastern and one western facies of lacustrine and fluvial sedimentary rocks are separated by a belt of eolian sandstones. The faces may be distinguished in the field and by petrographic and heavy-mineral studies in the laboratory.

From Scope of Report: "This report covers the following: (a) A brief description of the work contemplated under Project No. 3 as an integral part of the Conowingo tunnel system; (b) an economic discussion of the area affected; (c) the geology and hydrology of the Northern field, including the Wyoming Basin; (d) the basic problem, plans, and costs, and the construction schedule of the project; (e) an economic analysis and a justification for the project; (f) recommendations and cooperation of local interests; and (g) final conclusions."
