Memorial card for Private Douglas Foutch, born 1923 and died October 9, 1944. The funeral was held Tuesday, July 13, 1948 at First Baptist Church in Arlington, officiated by Rev. Tom Madden and Rev. Floyd Myers. Funeral arrangements were made through Hugh M. Moore and Sons and he was buried in Parkdale Cemetery in Arlington, Texas.

She explains that she did not sign papers for an allowance from her son Jack, and that she has learned that the amount originally allotted for her has been withheld from his pay for several months. Letter from John Todd Willis, Jr. to Sallie Letitia Willis, on February 15, 1944. He thanks her for a box she sent him at Christmas, and admits that Italy is better than Africa, and there are more things to take pictures of in Italy than in Africa, but he still wants to go home. He's heard that Margaret Ann is dating a soldier, and predicts that they will get married.

Letter from John Todd Willis, Jr. to Sallie L. Willis, on December 6, 1944, thanking her for the Christmas box she sent him. He talks about the weather, and says that the food is getting bad because it's all canned, so her box is very welcome. He expresses hope that a relative made it safely to France.

Letter from Joe B. Plosser to Frank X. Mara replying to previous correspondence from May 4, 1943. Plosser tells Mara that he and Charles A. Prince are working to get their contract reinstated.

Interview with Lloyd F. Hudson, a Texas National Guard WWII veteran from Fort Worth, Texas. Hudson discusses his family background, joining the 124th Cavalry and transfer to the 112th, work as a cavalryman before activation, activation and the Louisiana Maneuvers, deployment to Townsville, Australia, amphibious assault on Arawe, New Britain, falling ill and returning to the States, the character of troops, equipment, rivalry with the Marine Corps, and acts of bravery. In appendix is a list of Hudson's fellow soldiers, the places he served, descriptions of the equipment mentioned in the interview, and the 112th's service chronicle.

Interview with Inga Pennock, a Holocaust survivor from Berlin. Pennock discusses her family background, experiencing antisemitism and the start of Nazi rule, trying to leave Germany and hiding, increasing violence, Kristallnacht, losing family, fleeing to Shanghai, Japanese occupation and the ghetto, working as a nurse for the Japanese, living conditions, liberation, and life afterwards.

Letter from Earl Yates, Jr. to his mother saying that "is seems as if Hitler finally gave up being the superman," and that he hopes this is the last trip that U. S. O. members will have to make.

Letter from June Yates to Cal describing his travels across Germany after the war was over. June notes the destruction that the bombs inflicted on some of the large cities and testifies for the accuracy of the horror stories told from the concentration camps; they are still very busy as they are the only hospital for miles.

Letter from June Yates to his mother describing his actions and activities in Germany; he says, though, that he will not be home early as he had originally planned. He also goes into detail about the weather in Germany and talks of the letters he has received from other individuals.
