Photograph of a group of young people from the Purmela School in Purmela, Texas. The students range in age from younger children to older teenagers. Three rows stand in front of five windows on a brick building, while a group of younger children sits below them. The fourth person on the first row is Homer Freeman and the seventh is Herman Maxwell. The second person the second row is Vella Freeman, the fifteenth is Joe Maxwell, and the nineteenth is Thurman Maxwell. The fourth girl on the foremost row is Ellen Freeman.

The reverse side of the photo indicates that two of the men are named Bob Arnold and Howard Franks.
