Students stand in a long line behind a picket fence, on the second floor balcony of the building behind them, and on the stairs leading to the balcony. Most of the students are women, and many of them are wearing mortarboards. The dormitory is a four-story wood frame building with dormer windows on the third floor and gables on the fourth. Five ladders lead from the second floor balcony to windows on the floor above. A smaller, one-story building is visible at the right rear.
