Feagan discusses the refusal of The Taylor County Democratic Convention to pass a resolution for the names of Stevenson and Sparkman to be placed on the ballot in Texas as Democratic nominees for President and Vice-President. He urges Shivers to do all he can to cause the State Convention to place two slates of Democratic nominees on the November ballot. In a handwritten postscript Feagan advises Carswell that they are counting on his help. The reverse side includes seat numbers Sec L, Row B-1-8 handwritten by [T. N. Carswell].

Nora writes to Carswell that she is thinking of him, that Mrs. Kuhl has not yet arrived but they expect her most anytime now and casually ends the note, "be good and let me hear from you". Anderson, Haynes, Roberts and Collier advise the Trustees of the need of Hardin-Simmons University for $150,000.00 to complete the girls' dormitory assuring them that the hospital can make the loan to the University and requests a vote for or against making the loan. Handwritten note by Carswell dates the decision as needed by October 3, 1952.

An outline of the details regarding the membership drive is concluded with a wartime pitch, "Now is your chance to receive a commission without Political pull. We have a job to do; the American Legion stands first, for God and Country, and we must stand strongly, for those principles for which we fought in 1917-1918".
