Slagel declines the invitation to attend the Armistice Day Review due to Colorado City meeting Abilene in a football game the same day.

Herbert, Major, Inspector Designate, Fort Worth, Texas, dated May 23, 1941. Copy to Major T. N. Carswell. Herbert requests the paperwork be completed by the 27th, any errors made can be corrected to insure all paper work will be perfect on inspection date.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from J. Ralph Lee, Colorado City, Texas, dated January 4, 1942. Lee inquires of Carswell whether or not Bob Wagstaff is a good speaker and explains that he is thinking of asking him to speak to their Lions Club. He notes his regret that it was necessary for Carswell to resign his place in the Defense Guard.

A letter addressed to The Chairman, Mitchell County Local Board No. 1, Colorado City, Texas from L. M. Fellbaum, Major, Q. M. C., Policy Supervisor dated February 18, 1944. Fellbaum advises that Mr. Thomas N. Carswell has been instructed to assist the board members or clerks in the processing of registrants due to the increase in physical examinations and induction calls, and due also to their recent change in clerks explaining that his assistance will greatly aid the local board in their work.

A letter written to Mr. Ralph Lee, Colorado City, Texas, from T. N. Carswell, dated October 30, 1941. Carswell confirms that Lt. Col. William O. Perry of the 89th Brigade will speak on Friday, November 7, offers his congratulations to Lee and discloses the details of the event.
