She says to "tell Mr. Moore I prefer living here [Tennessee] if the women have children when 50 years old out there [in Texas]."

He mentions that his family has been gone the whole time he is visiting. He met a couple of people from Texas at the depot and a man from Tennessee. He feels bad for their hardship. He comments on how Linnet is doing on the trip. He mentions how different the women are, they ride broncos and smoke.
