Corn stalks have been out with stalk cutter, leaving litter on top of ground. Peanuts harvested and followed with cover crop of rye. Twelve months ago wind erosion was active in this field. Photograph of supplemental pasture and cover crop of rye on the Blackwell brothers’ farm. Crop was fertilized with 150 pounds per acre of 4-12-4 fertilizer. The field is completely terraced and was covered in Sudan grass last year. When the Blackwell brothers bought this farm, this field was too severely depleted to grow a crop. TX-41, 394
