The purpose of this study is to analyze and to determine some fundamental principles basic to an effective democratic organization of school teachers and administrators. In so doing, attention will be given to the need for such an organization, to the shortcomings of present organizations, and to the fundamental principles which should underlie any effective organization.

The purpose of this study is to give the results of a testing program in the low seventh grade of an urban school wherein intelligence, personality, achievement, and socioeconomic tests were given. The primary purpose of the tests was to determine what influence, if any, the environmental factors played in the individual learning process, but attention was given to other phases of the learning process as well.

The purposes of this study are (1) to determine military and scholastic achievements made by North Texas State Teachers College lettermen during World War II; (2) to make tabulations of these achievements; and (3) to provide references and data on these athletes during World War II.

This primary purpose of this thesis is to explore the progression of education within Ellis County. The first two chapters focus on how the county was founded, the first settlements, the formation of towns and economic developments. The rest of the paper gives the history and development of education, specifically the early schools of the county, the beginning of public schools, and the more recent trends of education.

The purpose of this study is to make a survey of the work of the State Department of Education of Texas in promoting school health services in the state. In addition, attention is given to the changing aims of education, the development of school health services throughout the nation, the urgent need for reorientation of subject matter, methods of teaching, and need for greater public financing of health education.

The problem in this study has a three-fold purpose: to evaluate the work performance, as ranked by employers and teachers, of a group of employed graduates of business education of the sunset high School of Dallas, Texas; to evaluate the personality traits demonstrated by the employees on the job in relation to the personality traits demonstrated in school; and to analyze these evaluations to secure suggestions for improving the course of study, including the amount of emphasis which should be placed on the various phases of the instructional program.

This study was made to show the relationship of the growth and development of the city, and the park system to the recreation movement of Fort Worth, Texas from 1873-1947. This information was gathered from the following sources: annexation files of the city secretary and city engineer, annual reports of the city of Fort Worth, Texas, the charter of the city of Fort Worth, Texas, the History of Fort Worth Park system, the minutes of Public Recreation Board, and the personnel of city officials.

This study is a reflection of the efforts made by faculty members of the Nocona, Texas High School, with the aid of two outside evaluating committees, to set up a workable and practical plan for executing personnel problems and policies in the school. The major portion of this investigation centers around the evaluations made of the guidance service in 1940 and 1942 and the re-evaluation made in 1947.

This study of personnel policies in college and universities includes such phrases as administrative control, classification and distribution of positions, selection and appointment, terms of employment, teaching loads, and appraisal and interpretation of personnel policies. This study is planned to provide data on the policies with regard to the non-teaching staff as well as those of the teaching staff. From this study the writer concludes that strong personnel policies are not being developed by the twenty-five colleges and universities studied. The administrative officers apparently are largely unaware of the vital needs of such policies, and the members of the staff are reported to have little representation in formulating the policies which are adopted. Furthermore, it is evident that colleges and universities are not taking the lead in the unification of personnel policies in institutions of higher learning, and the worth of each individual employed by the institutions is not being recognized.
