The general index begins on page 11 and the index to advertisers begins on page 12.

This text contains the third portion of the Austin Papers, which are documents covering October, 1834 to January, 1837. According to the preface, the documents include, "business memoranda, physiographical observations, petitions and memorials to local and superior governments, political addresses and proclamations, and much personal and official correspondence" (p. iii). Each page contains pictures as well as handwritten notes. Earnest Ruben McElreath was born Dec. 15, 1905 in Munday, Knox County, Texas and died Sept. 15, 1988 in Bexar County, Texas. He served as a major in the U. S. Army during World War II and is buried in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. Some pictures were taken before Sept. 1, 1925.
