Am following the Bosque and Brazos Rivers and am finding plenty of gravel. Every mountain is gravel. May go fishing awhile tonight. Goodbye. Hamlett."

Postcard from G. L. Schench to Mrs. L. H. Schench, discussing a six mile drive the sender took, and the natural beauty he or she saw. The front of the postcard features a photograph (colored in with ink) of Fern Bank waterfall in Boerne Texas. The waterfall is a small stream of water spilling over a rocky ledge covered in greenery. The water fall cascades down a short distance, and then over a rock and into a pool of water. There are more rocks and greenery on either side of the waterfall.

Postcard from J. E. Silcrest to Junia Roberts Osterhout. The front is a picture of a city park. There is grass at the front and pathways going through the park. There is a flag sailing from a post on the right side and is surrounded by colorful flowers. The back of the picture and the left side of it are lined with trees. Shrubs are spaced out in front of the trees and form a border. On the back, Silcrest wrote that he was proud of their park.

Postcard from Rose Chamberlin to Junia Roberts Osterhout. The front has a photo of a man and women standing by a horse drawn carriage. The woman is standing with one hand on the seat of the carriage and is wearing a white dress and a white hat. The man is standing beside her with a hand on his hat and is wearing a white shirt, tie, and slacks. In the background are branches and leaves that cover the sky. On the back, Rose wrote to decline Junia's invitation somewhere.

Postcard to Linnet White from an unknown author. The author writes about a visit they made to a friend and people who have visited them. The bottom of the letter is missing.

Postcard to Linnet White from Lizzie. She wrote to give Linnet a brief update on what has been happening in life. She mentions that she has been sick, someone that had an operation recently, and hopes to hear from Linnet on how her operation went.

Postcard of Camp MacArthur with tents on the right side, division headquarters in the back (center), and houses and cars on the left side. Printed on the front of the postcard: "Division Headquarters. Camp MacArthur Waco Texas. Mann." There is a handwritten letter on the back of the postcard.

Postcard from J. D. Smith to George Pendexter with a photograph of the St. Johns Fire Department in St. Johns, Michigan. On the far right of the photograph there is the steamer engine being pulled by two horses, there is another wagon loaded with ladders in the center of the group and more firemen standing on the far left of the picture.

Postcard from Earl E. Cratty to George Pendexter with a photograph of a horse-drawn fire department vehicle going down a street in Galesburg, Illinois for the Decoration Day Parade (now Memorial Day) on May 30, 1912. There is a large crowd of people lining the street on both sides, as other vehicles pass by in the background. There is a note on the photo that says "St. Louis, MO has great collection of cards."

Postcard from W. B. Johnston to George Pendexter with a photograph of "Auto Engine No. 1" of the Battle Creek Fire Department testing its pump. There is a note on the back of the card describing the location of the truck in the photograph; there is a large group of people standing around the engine during the test.

Postcard of Fort Worth's Central Fire Station, a two-story stone building with a tower that extends an additional two stories. Horse-drawn carriages are passing by through the street. The back of the postcard has a handwritten message from the sender, A. Miller.

Postcard from W. B. Johnston to George Pendexter with a newspaper clipping glued to the correspondence section of the card. The clipping describes the technical features of the new "Chemical and hose Motor Car" which has a capacity of "700 gallons of water a minute." Johnston mentions L. D. Smith and a fire on March 25, 1925; Smith is possibly the fireman in the photograph on the reverse side seen going up a ladder into a smoking building.

Only the framework is left standing as most of the inside of the building has been totally destroyed; there are also a large number of men standing in formation to the right of the building.

Postcard of George O'Brien Millard School with students in front of it. On the right side of the postcard can be seen a statue of George O'Brien Millard and a playground. The George O'Brien Millard School was a public elementary school in Beaumont started about 1910 and sometimes known as just Millard School. George O'Brien Millard was a prominent Beaumont citizen who helped develop the public school system in Beaumont. Printed on the top left of the postcard is "Geo. B. Millard School, Beaumont, Texas." Handwritten on the back of the postcard, "All O.K. Weather perfectly grand and things are lovely. I return to E.T June 12. Wouldn't you like to see me? Love to Aunt Lizzie & all. Hazel." The card is addressed to Mr. James Mortin, Cochituate, Mass.

Postcard of the front of the stone Alamo, described as "Alamo, San Antonio, Texas." The letter on the back reads, "Is all of Texas as hot as this? Are all your beauties now fed? Are you coming back to Rauie this season? Leo E." The postcard is addressed to "Miss Mamie McFadden Mrs. H. C. Duncan 5th Ave. + 15th St. Huntington, W. Va."
