She talks about her chickens. She asks if they plan to come visit in the summer, because she really wants to see them. She comments on the weather and asks if they think about moving to St. Louis. She liked their pictures and asks about Claude's father. She asks for a long letter.

He mentions that Josephus is at Fosterville with some volunteers and that times are hard and he is feeling very anxious for himself and his family. There is an envelope addressed to Charles B. Moore in Rocky Bayou, Izzard County, Arkansas, and it is dated May 22, 1891. According to the note on the left, it was received on June 8, 1861.
