Postcard of Slovak Girls Academy in Danville, Pennsylvania. A handwritten note addressed to Miss Helen H. Aten from Woodrow W. Aten says "Howdy all - Tis near chow time Monday eve. Just now we have a good breeze from the east - maybe rain. We had a few drops on Sunday, also had a fine trip too. As ever Woodrow."

Postcard of the Pall Mall Room and Cocktail Lounge in the Hotel Raleigh in Washington D.C. A handwritten note addressed to Miss Helen H. Aten from Woodrow W. Aten says "Sun Morn. Howdy- you see you are cutting down on the use of writing paper therefore I return the same. This time we made the grade of getting a place to stay. The card shows the lobby. Last night we took a boat ride up or down the Potomac. It is now 8:40 and we plan on going to see the monuments etc. This hotel is quite nice but rather old. So long. Woodrow."

But is sure is some grand place here will hate to go back to [?]. Katherine."

A handwritten note addressed to Helen H. Aten from Woodrow W. Aten at Camp Barkeley says "Dear Helen & all- Arrived safely at 2/38 3 July, had a nice trip. The weather we relatively cool and had on partial flap - a small nail. Drove 133 miles the first day- Woodrow."

Hermsinger says "Hello all: I received your card sometime ago, sorry I didn't get out while I was home, there were a lot of places I wanted to go but didn't get there. Well, maybe we'll have Hitler where the negro on the other side is pretty soon (we hope). I had a swell time while I was home, only wish I could of stayed longer, but uncle Sam said no. Hope you are all well, as I am O.K. It's awful warm here, you should have some of this weather up there to make hay. Write when you can. Nevin."
