Interview with Irene and Bill Womack, a couple from two well-known Kerr County families, from Kerrville, Texas. The couple discusses their ancestors, the Reals and the Womacks. They also talk about the local people and places they remember growing up in Kerrville. The interview transcript includes photos of Mr. and Mrs. Womack and their family, on pages 31-36.

Carswell advises McGranery that he had written to Chairman McCarran and to both Texas Senators in opposition to his confirmation but decided that after McGranery began his duties he felt he had misinterpreted his "calibre as a man and official". He expresses his appreciation for what McGranery did for the country.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Parramore Post No. 57, American Legion, Abilene, Texas, from Charles Schwarz, Director of Public Relations, Treasury Department, Washington, dated December 11, 1941. Schwarz expresses for Secretary Morgenthau his appreciation for the letter asking for an expression on Americanism and advises that he is sending a copy of an address given in 1938 by the Secretary. Enclosure includes: THE ROAD AHEAD. An address by Henry Morgenthau, Jr., Secretary of the Treasury dated June 16, 1938. "―to be delivered at the Commencement Exercises of Temple University, Philadelphia, Pa., June 16, 1938―"

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Chairman, Committee on Americanism, Parramore Post No. 57, American Legion, Abilene, Texas, from Le Roy V. Greene, Assistant Secretary to the Governor, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, dated December 8, 1941. Greene acknowledges receipt of the letter from Carswell advising that he is bringing it to the attention of the Governor and "meanwhile" sends a copy of a quotation by the Governor regarding Americanism. The enclosure is a political statement from Arthur H. James, The Governor, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Governor's Office, Harrisburg dated December 8, 1941, in which James defines Americanism.

A letter addressed to Mr. E. Tracy Sweet, Editor, Scrantonian, Scranton, Pennsylvania, from T. N. Carswell, For the Committee on Americanism, American Legion, dated December 4, 1941. The letter contains a promotion of a "What is Americanism?" campaign. The campaign is defined as "seeking more light in the form of a contribution", the contribution being the answer to the question, "What is Americanism?". The answer will then be used "to help stimulate an AMERICANISM REVIVAL comparable in results to the periods of the Revolution, the Making of the Constitution, and the Civil War" stressing that the country's destiny depends on these answers. E. Tracy Sweet defines Americanism in a reply typewritten near the bottom of page before the complimentary close.

A letter addressed to The Military Service Publishing Company, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, from Parramore Post 57 American Legion, T. N. Carswell, Post Commander, dated June 12, 1941. Carswell places an order for books including The State Defense Force Manual and 16 other military training manuals.

A letter addressed to the Military Service Publishing Company, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, from T. N. Carswell, Post Commander, dated January 20, 1941. Carswell places an order for 16 copies of the "State Defense Force Manual" authorizing a draw on his personal account at F. & M. National Bank, Abilene, Texas to assure shipment.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Sec.-Mgr., Abilene Chamber of Commerce, Abilene, Texas, from Rupert H. Johnson, R. H. Johnson & Co., New York, dated June 25, 1938. Johnson acknowledges his receipt of the letter from Carswell and advises that the problem which the City of Abilene faces seems to him to be two-fold and proceeds to discuss the two problems suggesting possible solutions by citing the experiences of other cities. He advises of an enclosed clipping regarding the financing of Pittston, Pennsylvania. The reverse side of the last page of this letter includes calculations handwritten by T. N. Carswell. Typewritten on R. H. Johnson & Co. letterhead bearing OLD CHESTER BOND watermark; subsequent pages bear ETON BOND watermark.
