The blaze consumed the large Paris Furniture Store and Van Winkle's clothing store. Some damage from the flames, smoke and water was reported at Secruity Bank and at least three other buildings in the block sustained smoke and water damage."

With releatives watching solemnly from the balcony, 100 members of the state house of represenatives took the oath of office here at noon Thursday. This was all but but nine of the 119 members who will make up the membership of the house when it convens in January. Eight members were missing for some reason or other when the oath was given...The men are Vol Odom, Democrat, who sought re-election, and S.
