The case was to be submitted to an all-woman jury following final agreements of attorneys. Clarence M. Mills, district judge, read instructions to the panel shortly before noon. It is the first all-woman jury selected to hear testimony in a criminal case here since female jurors began serving in 1951. harris, a gas station attendant, told the jury that he was on intimate terms with an 11-year-old girl hitchhiker, but denied having sexual relations with her. the 24-year-old defendat, who lives at 528 NE, 2, told the panel why the sexual act was not accomplished last June 11 after he picked up the girl at NW 36 and MacArthur blvd. Harris is charged with first fegree rape. The minimum penalty, upon conviction is 15 years in the state penitentiary at McAlester."

Lancaster Pond

Photograph of part of the Lancaster pond. After four years of severe drought Mr. Lancaster still has plenty of livestock and recreational water. This large pond 12 acres at spillway level, average depth 9 feet, is the principal water source for 150 head of cattle.
