Photograph used for a story in the Oklahoma City Times newspaper. Caption: "Towers of St. Luke's Methodist and Westminister Presbyterian churches frequently are pointed out among the city's most stricking landmarks. Their richest treasures, however, is not in the stately heights, but the fine carillons atop each other. Westminister and St. Luke's are the only city churches which own carillons, and both the bell sets are the finest availble. Both were hand cast in Holland by the world's most renowned manufacturer of bells. And each will be heard in the coming two weeks in a bell recital as a prelude to the coming holidays. Most Listeners can readily distinguish between the rich clear tone of the carillon and the more common electronic chimes, which use sets of bars and tubular chimes plus amplifying units...........Cecil Lapo, minister of music at St. Luke's, performs a 30-minute bell recital at 4:40 p.m. each Sunday, and member Harry Turner sounds the carillon following the morning services. (photo tag: Open to the sky is the 42-bell carillon of St. Luke's Methodist Church.)"
