Photograph used for a story in the Oklahoma City Times newspaper. Caption: "Sun Begins Melting Record-Breaking Snow, Glaze Throughout State; City's Low of 20, Sets Mark for Day; High of 40 Predicted Oklahoma glistened Tuesday morning as warm sunlight hit record-breaking snow and ice that covered all sections, and tempatures started climbing from all-time lows for the date. Residents over the entire state slid to work on ice-glazed pavements. Mr. Maughan's forecasters said the early winter is fading for a while. High here will be near 40 Tuesday afternoon and will range from 35 to 50 over the state under partly cloudy skies. Warming trends are seen through Saturday. Low Tuesday night will near 30 here and from 20 to 30 over the state. High here Wednesday will be near 48, with a state range from 45 to 50. City traffic was snarled in all sections as cars failed to find traction on icy streets. A rash of minor accidents were reported as workers were caught in one of the worst traffic jams of the year. (photo tag: Where you on the spot Tuesday? This, NW 16 and Broadway looking north, was one of worst, police say.)"
